How to Check VK Shares for Any URL (Free Methods)

VK (VKontakte) is one of the world's largest social networks — dominant across Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia — and its reposts carry real weight as social signals. Unlike some platforms, VK still offers a free, keyless way to look up the share count of any URL. Here are the methods that work in 2026.

1. One-click VK share checker (easiest)

Paste any URL into a free social signals checker and you get the VK share count alongside 14 other platforms — no signup, results in seconds. This is the method 99% of people should use.

2. The keyless share.php trick (no account needed)

VK exposes a public share-counter endpoint that needs no API key. Paste this into your browser's address bar, replacing the URL at the end:

The page returns a tiny snippet like VK.Share.count(1, 42); — the last number is the share count. This is the same endpoint most free checker tools use behind the scenes, so doing it by hand gives you the identical number.

3. Check the page's own VK share button

If the website runs VK's official share button, the button usually displays its share count right next to it — the most convenient check for your own pages. No button on the page? Fall back to method 2.

4. Search VK for the link

Type the URL (or its domain) into VK's search. You will see the public posts that shared it — which tells you who is spreading your link and in what context, not just the raw number. Great for spotting communities that amplify your content.

What VK share counts include — and what they don't

VK's count covers shares and reposts of the link. Likes are tracked separately and need an authenticated API call — most free methods won't show them. And watch out for URL variants: http vs https, www vs bare domain, and trailing slashes can each report a different count, because VK tracks them as separate objects. When comparing numbers, always use the exact same URL.

The bottom line

VK is one of the few major networks that still hands out share counts for free, with no API key and no login. The share.php trick takes ten seconds — or check any URL below in one click, across all 15 platforms.
